How Teeth Whitening Works

It is always best to have your teeth cleaned prior to whitening your teeth. This removes the tartar from your teeth and allows the whitening gel to come into direct contact with your teeth, giving you better results.

We will take impressions of your teeth and create personal, customized whitening trays that fit snugly, holding your whitening gel against your teeth. It is important to use only the recommended amount of whitening gel so you can avoid gum irritation and sensitivity. 

You can wear your whitening trays at home when it works for you. We recommend wearing them for about an hour or two each day over the course of a couple of weeks, depending on your level of staining. Dr. Michael Alano will discuss the proper use of your whitening system so you can achieve the results you want.

Once your initial whitening treatment is complete, you can hold onto your whitening trays so you can touch up your teeth every so often.
